"If you can; you must." These were the closing words by keynote speaker Nazanin Afshin-Jam to more than 100 guests at HEALCANADA's inaugural Luncheon and Fundraiser, held at Hollyburn Country Club on May 5th, 2011.
Nazanin, an International Human Rights Activist, singer/song writer, actor, former Miss World Canada and President and co-founder of Stop Child Executions organization is actively involved in addressing human rights abuses in China, Darfur and other countries with tyrannical regimes. For her tireless advocacy on behalf of vulnerable people around the world she has been the recipient of several Human Rights awards of distinction.
Many people left the event inspired by Nazanin's honest and passionate speaking style and educational content of her speech. Advocating for the rights of women and children, the message underscored a much broader global responsibility: Enabling women will benefit all of humanity.
